SUMMARY:Eureka! Interns 2 & Seniors Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered who analyzes blood that is drawn in a doctor’s office? Have you ever wanted to see how cancer cells are detected under a microscope? Wonder no more! We will be touring Methodist Hospital’s laboratory. Here you will see what happens when blood is drawn\, how red blood cells are counted\, and how cancer is detected in tissue. We will also be learning about the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. This is an 11-month educational program providing experience in all major departments of a hospital clinical lab. Average salary is $49\,000 to $60\,000 per year. The tour starts at 11:00am and will conclude around 12:00pm. We will go out for lunch afterwards at Buffalo Wild Wings. There is no cost. Please arrive at Girls Inc. North Campus by 10:00am. Pick-up is 3:00pm (Girls Inc. is closed this day\, so parents will need to pick-up promptly at 3:00pm).
