Dear Mayor Suttle,
On behalf of Teenage Touch, we would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to present our business plan. As young African-American girls, we strive to be the best in whatever we do. We are committed to helping our young girls. By “leading by example,” we believe we can make a difference, not only in their lives, but in the world.
Girls Inc. has made a major difference in our lives. Corporate Camp provided us the opportunity to prepare ourselves as young, female entrepreneurs. This experience has helped to prepare us for the real world that we are about to enter. We are about to enter an important stage in our lives, and the support we receive from caring adults like yourself, will help us to make good decisions.
Thank you for taking time out of your hectic schedule to sit down and listen to what we have to offer. You have made it clear that we are important, and our voices can be heard. I speak for all of my colleagues when I say, planning and presenting this proposal taught us that we can achieve anything if we just put our minds to it and believe in ourselves.
Thank you again for your time and consideration. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss our business venture with you again in the near future, and know we can count on your support. If you have any questions, please contact me at 402-457-4676.
Sincerely,
Latisa Dutton, CEO

Corporate Camp for Entrepreneurs
I am truly glad that I had an opportunity to go to New York and participate in the Corporate Camp for Entrepreneurs. By doing this I gained the valuable skills needed to become a young entrepreneur through the help of Girl’s Inc national staff and volunteers who are entrepreneurs and have experienced the business world. Women entrepreneurs came and spoke with us about their professions and how much effort and hard work they had to put into their careers. Just being in New York was just a wonderful experience for me. I had a chance to experience the way New Yorkers live on a day to day basis which was a very exciting.
Meeting with [Joyce Roche] the President and CEO of Girls Inc was very inspiring because she showed all of the qualities of being Strong, Smart, and Bold.
Corporate Camp is a very valuable program for our Girls Inc. girls who are able to be strong and bold in whatever they do in life and smart when it comes to making a decision for yourself that will benefit you later in life.

The Subway
Corporate Camp provided me with many firsts, but I think the most memorable first was riding the subway. I thought that it was rather fun and exciting to ride the silver trains that sped past you providing a little relief from the stuffy atmosphere. I enjoyed the thrill of just barely getting in the car before the doors shut on you. I loved the quick jolt of its departure and the same with its rather speedy stop.
The only thing I didn’t like was the feeling of being surrounded by people in a cramped space with little room to even breathe, but even that had a little enjoyment to it.
I wish I had an amazing story of how my bag got snatched or that tons or rats scattered past me, but I don’t. The subway wasn’t anything like what I saw on T.V.
I have always thought of the Subway as a filthy place that you should never be caught alone in. It was actually a fun place where you see all kinds of people. It was a rather positive experience for me and hardly at all a negative one. It was one of the many great things that I experienced and will always remember from the week of Corporate Camp.
